My H2 Power plug test so far

Got my H2 and tested it. Here are some experiences I’ve made.

Testing area: Aprox 130 year old house, 30cm brick walls between rooms. Father of a one year old and absolutely no time for my smarthome or other things, so everything hast to be dumb easy. I use Apple Home to control everything from my phone and my matter devices, ikea dirigera for my zigbee devices and two aqara hubs for my aqara devices end security system.

Pros: Simple and slim design. Good build quality. Absolutely no problem adding to my matter network → perfect for people like me. I had zero connection problems in the last three weeks and never had to restart the device. The reaction time ist super fast. Also the 16 amps are absolutely perfekt to not think about device limits.

Cons: Didn’t found one. The only thing is the matter compatibility (only on/off and light settings), but thats a matter/apple thing.

I used it for light strip control, automated charging for my old laptop and for my little greenhouse (light and fans). Maybe i find the time to reactivate my homeassistant (didn’t have time for that) and test it there also.

So far: great and reliable device!

Hey @Deatsch thanks for sharing your experience!
I just can second your experience. It’s working pretty well here too

The most interesting thing to test would be the measurement accuracy at the extremes. Does it even pick up low-wattage standby loads (under 5W) without jumping around? And on the other end, how does the accuracy hold up under a high-load appliance for an hour or two?

If it does work without the hub, then we know it has local memory! In that case, the real ”pro” test would be finding the limit. Try adding 15–20 toggles (one every minute) and see how many it can store before it hits a wall or misses a beat. If you find a moment, the community would be very grateful for this insight!

Try setting up a simple on/off schedule for the plug, then kill Aqara hub power and see if the H2 still executes the schedule on its own.
