Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with Wyze products and something I recently discovered that piqued my curiosity. I’ve been using Wyze cameras, doorbells, and even their smart plugs for a while now, and I must say, they’ve been a great addition to my smart home setup. The integration with my existing ecosystem has been smooth, and the affordability is a huge plus.
However, I stumbled upon some information that made me question the origins of these products. It seems that many Wyze devices, like their cameras and vacuum cleaners, are actually Xiaomi products rebranded under the Wyze name. For instance, the Wyze RoboVac is almost identical to the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum, right down to the design and functionality. This made me wonder if Wyze is more of a firmware and service company rather than a hardware manufacturer.
I own several Wyze devices, and they’ve performed exceptionally well. The firmware updates are consistent, and the mobile app is user-friendly. But knowing that they might not be creating their own hardware adds a new layer to how I view the brand. It’s interesting to see how companies collaborate behind the scenes to bring products to market.
I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on this. Have you noticed similarities between Wyze and Xiaomi products? Does it affect your perception of Wyze as a brand? For me, as long as the products continue to deliver quality and reliability, I’m happy to keep using them. It’s also fascinating to see how global companies adapt and rebrand products for different markets.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your insights!
