The Problem I Solved:
Created hands-free lighting control using:
Aqara FP2 Sensor (ultra-smart presence detection)
Shelly Relays (Wi-Fi light/fan control)
The Challenge:
My Aqara Camera’s IR blaster can’t properly control my AC
My Setup
Automatic Lighting:
- “When FP2 sees me → Shelly turns on lights”
- “No movement for 10 mins → Lights off”
AC Control (Work in Progress):
- Tried Aqara Cam’s IR → Too limited!
- Temporary fix: Broadlink RM4 (but I want full Aqara integration!)
Proof It Works!
(Imagine cool pics here of:)
- FP2 perfectly detecting my movements
- Shelly switches reacting instantly
- Aqara Cam’s IR settings (showing its limits)
Why This Matters
No more wasted energy (auto-off works great!)
True hands-free convenience
Highlights where Aqara can improve
Next-Level Ideas
- If Aqara makes a better IR controller, I’ll test it first!
- Dream feature: FP2 could adjust AC based on room occupancy
AqaraAutomationChallenge #SmartHomeStruggles
(P.S. Aqara team - please make an IR blaster that works with ACs!)
Bonus Tech Details (For Judges):
- FP2 Placement: Corner-mounted for best coverage
- Shelly Setup: Cloud-free local control
- IR Issues: Most AC codes missing in Aqara app
Why I Should Win:
I’m pushing Aqara’s limits while making real-world automation work!
