My reservations from the practice of installing the U200 lock

Hello, @KinseyCreateGoods.
When installing a door lock, I saw such a feature, when we put the adapter on the cylinder, you need to be very careful and pay attention to the protrusion of the adapter. There are key-rod cylinders where
1 - the rod has a cut (configuration) from edge to edge;
2 - the rod has a cut where it ends approximately 3-5 mm from the edge of the rod near the cylinder and then it is simply round.

Therefore, when installing with the first (1) cylinder, the adapter fits into the U200 equipment and the U200 knob (handle) turns very easily during the cylinder’s idle stroke (the cylinder tongue does not yet push the lock’s locking mechanism).
When installing with the second type of cylinder (2), the adapter also fits well but rests against the edge of the cut, in the U200 the handle turns well but with significant resistance during the cylinder’s idle stroke. This feature (tight movement of the handle) a new user may not even pay attention to, it turns, so everything is okay.
I assume that part of the malfunctions during the operation of the U200 is precisely associated with the heavy (relatively) movement of the handle, which in turn affects mechanical abrasion, spells or other malfunctions associated with the mechanical part of the U200 lock. In this case, I partially erase the adapter on a whetstone until the movement of the handle becomes free.
I emphasize once again, this is my personal vision of the installation problem.

Thank you very much for sharing your detailed experience. It’s extremely helpful to us.

Would you be willing to share a photo of the adapter after you’ve ground it down? We’d like to show it to our mechanical engineers for reference, as it could help us improve the installation process and product design.

Thanks again for your valuable feedback!

Hi, this is how I reduced the adapter about 1.5-2 mm last time. For a sample to show you, I have drawn with a marker on the adapter (not used) where I reduced it.

Thank you!We will consider adjusting the mold after confirming with users in other regions.
