Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Shelly Dimmer. I recently installed one for my dining table lamp and had a few bumps along the way, but it was a great learning experience!
Initially, I was really excited because the installation seemed straightforward following the Single Switch setup in the manual. However, I quickly ran into some issues. The dimmer wouldn’t respond to the app, and the lamp only stayed at 100% brightness. I tried recalibrating, but nothing changed. To make things more frustrating, the physical light switch only worked for turning the light off, not on. It was a bit overwhelming, especially since I was under the impression that the LED bulbs I bought were dimmable.
After some research and reaching out to the community here, I realized that the issue might be with the transformer or the wiring. I decided to try a different approach by adjusting the settings in the Shelly app and testing the bulbs with a regular switch to rule out any bulb issues. Turns out, the bulbs were fine, but the dimmer needed some tweaking.
I also found out that using a high-quality transformer was crucial for stable operation. After making these adjustments, everything started working smoothly! The dimmer now responds perfectly to both the app and the physical switch, and the lighting is exactly what I wanted.
This experience taught me the importance of checking all components in a setup and not being afraid to troubleshoot each part individually.
