Hello everyone, I’ve been having some trouble with my Nest Gen 3 thermostat and Google Home integration. I’ve been using this setup for a while now, and it’s been working perfectly until recently. Now, when I try to control my Nest thermostat using my Google Home speaker, it doesn’t respond as expected. Instead of adjusting the temperature, it just plays a song related to my command. For example, when I say, ‘Hey Google, turn on the AC,’ it responds by playing a song titled ‘Turn On the AC’ on YouTube Music. This is quite frustrating, as I rely on this integration for daily convenience.
I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue. First, I checked my Google Home app to ensure that the Nest thermostat is correctly linked to my Google account. It shows up in the app, so the connection seems intact. I also restarted both the Nest thermostat and the Google Home speaker, but that didn’t help. Additionally, I disconnected and reconnected the Nest device from my Google account, but the problem persists.
I’m wondering if this issue is related to a recent update or a change in the way Google Home handles smart home devices. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with their Nest thermostats or other smart devices? I’m open to any suggestions or advice on how to fix this. If there’s a specific setting I should check or a particular feature I need to enable, please let me know. I’m hoping to get this working again soon so I can continue enjoying the seamless integration between my Nest thermostat and Google Home.
