New Aqara user asking for advice

Just bought the U400, several P2 door contacts, several G510 Pros and a G410. Waiting on the W200 thermostat to be released.

Replacing a home full of Eccobee and Eufy devices and multiple apps by going to Apple Home control. I have the latest version of Apple TV as my hub.

Questions
My first phase are the P2s. When registering the P2s, one took several attempts via Apple Home and several restarts. Should I have installed the Aqara app?

If so should I have installed them in the Aqara app first?

Can the app and Apple home coexist if I am using Apple as my command and control?

It’s best to add them to the Aqara app first as you get all the features and settings, and yes once added to Aqara home you can connect the app to HomeKit and any future devices you add will automatically show up in apple
Home.

I do not yet have everything so I assume if I do not have an Aqara Hub device the p2s will not connect to the aqara app…?

The g5 and g410 are both hubs so should be able to connect them to those

G5 and G410’s into Aqara app then add the p2’s and bind to a hub. One you’re all set and configured in Aqara you can then add the G5’s and g410 to Apple Home. The devices will show up under the hub you bound them to.

I have all my Aqara stuff setup in their app bound to the hubs and then pushed into Apple Home (other systems) I tend to bounce around but family members use only Apple Home and have an excellent experience.
