Is the new solar powered cameras capable of 24/7 recording or only motion based recording? Also is there a bigger solar panel accessory that we can use to power it or is it limited to the panel on itself ?

Interesting question, I think you must have noticed Aqara’s pre released new camera at CES. Yes, in addition to the camera itself having a small solar panel, it can also be connected to other larger solar panels. It is not easy for a battery powered cameras to maintain continuous recording for 7 × 24 hours, of course due to the limited battery capacity. This new Aqara camera support AOV (always on video) technology, which maintains low frame rate recording (usually 1-3 seconds have a new image frame) without event triggering; Once an event is triggered, the camera will return to normal frame rate recording (usually 20fps), ensuring the smoothness and integrity of the event recording, which is the key to maintaining 7x24 hour recording.
