Has there been any announcement or update on if there would be a Water Leak Sensor T2
I wanted it to connect to my smart home through both Matter and SmartThings without an extra hub and I was hoping a new version would give me this??

Currently, there is no official information or announcement about a Water Leak Sensor T2, nor details on upcoming support for direct Matter and SmartThings integration without an extra hub in the available references. The current Water Leak Sensor models (including the T1) require a compatible Aqara Hub and do not support direct Matter or SmartThings connectivity without it.
If seamless integration with Matter and SmartThings without a hub is important to you, I encourage you to share your suggestion via manual customer service feedback.
