Hey everyone,
So I’m totally new to this smart home stuff and just got my first Aqara starter kit. Super pumped but also lowkey overwhelmed by all the options. I’ve got the hub, a door sensor, a motion sensor, and a smart plug. Now I’m just staring at them like… okay now what? :joy:

I’ve seen people talk about automations like turning lights on when motion is detected or sending alerts when a door is opened—but I have no clue where to begin. Do I need to use the Aqara app or should I just dive into HomeKit? Also, what’s the easiest “first automation” you guys would recommend for a total beginner that won’t fry my brain?
