Optical Notifications with Dimmer and Switch Actuators - A Smart Solution

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into a project that’s been both challenging and rewarding. I wanted to set up my wired switches and dimmers to provide optical notifications when someone rings the bell. The goal was to have the lights briefly brighten and then return to their original state, ensuring no accidental permanent changes.

At first, I wasn’t sure if this was possible without additional hardware, but after some research and trial and error, I found a great solution using the built-in features of my smart home system. I discovered that by programming the system to read the current state of each switch, apply a temporary change, and then revert back, I could achieve the desired effect seamlessly.

One thing I learned was the importance of testing each switch individually to ensure consistent behavior. It was also crucial to document each step, especially the default states, to make the process easier for future adjustments.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tackled a similar project or has tips for improving this setup. It’s always amazing to see how creativity and problem-solving can enhance our smart homes! :rocket:
