After nearly three years with my Hubitat setup, I’ve come to appreciate its reliability and smooth operation. However, there’s one aspect that’s been on my mind: the dashboard loading experience. When navigating through dashboards, the screen goes black for about two seconds with a ‘loading devices…’ message. It’s a minor inconvenience, but in today’s fast-paced world, even a couple of seconds can feel like an eternity.
I understand that the app needs time to fetch data, but I believe there’s room for improvement. Many other smart home apps manage to display dashboards instantly, even while fetching updated data in the background. This approach tricks the brain into not noticing the delay, creating a smoother user experience.
I wonder if implementing a similar strategy could benefit Hubitat. Perhaps preloading the dashboard with the last fetched data and then updating tiles as new information arrives could make the interface feel more responsive. This tweak wouldn’t just enhance usability; it could also contribute to a more polished overall experience.
What are your thoughts? Have you encountered similar issues, or perhaps found solutions that could be adapted? I’m eager to hear your ideas on how we might improve this aspect of Hubitat. Let’s collaborate to make our smart home experiences even better!
