MQTT Refresh Rate Optimization
I recently set up a second MQTT broker to integrate power consumption data from Emoncms into OpenHAB. While the integration itself worked smoothly, I noticed the refresh rate was a bit too high, causing a flood of logs related to Emoncms. This was a bit overwhelming, especially since I wanted a more streamlined experience.
After some research, I discovered that adjusting the item refresh rate in OpenHAB could help. By tweaking the configuration, I managed to reduce the frequency of updates without losing the essential data I needed. It’s been a great learning experience, and now my logs are much cleaner!
Affordable Zigbee Sensors
On another note, I’ve been on the hunt for some budget-friendly Zigbee motion and contact sensors. After doing some digging, I found that brands like Innr and Aqara offer great options that are both affordable and reliable. I’ve particularly been impressed with how seamlessly these sensors integrate with my existing setup.
If you’re looking for alternatives, I’d recommend checking out the Innr Smart Filament Bulb or the Aqara Door and Window Sensor. Both have been rock-solid in my experience and are well-supported within the OpenHAB ecosystem.
