Optimizing Security Sensors for a Large Home

I’ve been diving into setting up a comprehensive security system for my large home, and I’m curious about how others organize their sensors. I currently have a DSC alarm panel with 26 sensors, plus internal Z-Wave sensors on doors and cabinets. The goal is to capture triggered events and send alerts with clear, English descriptions (which I’ve found really helpful for avoiding confusion).

However, with so many sensors, I’m struggling with how to organize them in the UI without creating a cluttered list of rooms. Should I associate each sensor with a physical room, or is there a better way to group them? I’ve heard some users hide rooms or devices, but I’m not sure if that’s the best approach.

I’d love to hear how others structure their systems—do you use a flat list, nested rooms, or another method? Any tips for keeping the UI clean while still having easy access to all sensors would be greatly appreciated! :rocket:
