I’ve been really impressed with my Homematic IP setup, especially the FALMOT-C12 radiator thermostat paired with the WTH-2 thermostats. It’s been a game-changer for my underfloor heating system. However, I did run into a small tweak I wanted to make to improve my comfort further.
Initially, I noticed that the temperature adjustment was in 0.5°C increments. While this works well for most cases, I was curious if there was a way to make smaller adjustments for those days when you just want that extra bit of warmth or a slight cool-down. After some digging in the app and forums, I found that unfortunately, the app doesn’t allow for smaller increments directly. But here’s a little workaround I figured out!
I realized that by using the advanced settings in the app, I could actually simulate smaller adjustments by creating custom presets. For example, if I wanted a 0.25°C change, I’d create a preset that reflects that exact temperature. It’s not as seamless as having the slider do it, but it gets the job done without needing to manually adjust the valve.
Another thing I explored was the calibration of the thermostats. I was concerned about how precise the temperature readings would be, especially since underfloor heating can sometimes feel a bit inconsistent. I found that by gently adjusting the calibration settings in the app, I could ensure that the displayed temperature matched the actual feel of the room. This involved a bit of trial and error, but the result was worth it—perfectly balanced heating!
