Option to use the Motion Detected on Aqara G5 Pro Camera

Hi,
Is there anyone who knows where to check the motion sensor of the G5 Pro camera on the Aqara app? When I create the automation, there is no option " motion detected" but only “person detected", “vehicle detected"…
I want to use the motion sensor to activate the light, but the motion sensor on the HomeKit app is too sensitive, even a light can trigger it. I read other posts and found that Apple HomeKit uses the pixel detection rather than PIR.
That is why I want to use the Aqara automation, hopefully the PIR motion sensor will be more accurate.
Thanks

@hongson2111 Hi there!

It sounds like you’re looking to utilize the motion detection capabilities of your G5 Pro camera more effectively within the Aqara app. Unfortunately, it seems like the options for automation you mentioned, such as “person detected” and “vehicle detected,” are the ones currently available, and there isn’t a direct “motion detected” option listed for your G5 Pro camera in the Aqara app from the information at hand.

The sensitivity issue you’re experiencing with the HomeKit app is indeed related to its use of pixel-based detection, which can be triggered by even minor movements like changes in light. This is why you’re noticing such sensitivity. The PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors generally provide more precise motion detection by sensing body heat and are less likely to trigger false alarms from minor movements or light changes.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It might be helpful to reach out to Aqara’s support team for more specific guidance or updates on feature availability. Meanwhile, I encourage the community to share any workaround or insights they might have on this topic.

Please feel free to keep the discussion going, and let’s see if others might have additional suggestions or experiences to share!

Hi, friend
I have shown a picture below, the “lingerer detected” means the PIR detection

@hongson2111 Hi there! Thanks for sharing your question. Unfortunately, the reference information available doesn’t specifically cover the Aqara G5 Pro camera’s motion sensor settings in the app. For Camera E1, the automation conditions do include “Motion detected” and “human detected” , but this may not apply to the G5 Pro.

Since we don’t have detailed info on the G5 Pro here, perhaps other community members who use the same device can chime in with their experiences! If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to the Customer Service Team via the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) for more personalized support.

Hope you find a solution soon—let us know how it goes!

@hongson2111 Hi there!

Currently, the reference information available doesn’t specifically cover the Aqara G5 Pro camera’s motion sensor automation options. However, for other Aqara camera models like the Camera E1 and Camera Hub G2H Pro, “Motion detected” is listed as a linkage condition in their automation settings .

Since the G5 Pro isn’t detailed here, it’s possible the app’s automation options might vary. If you’re not seeing “motion detected” in the Aqara app, you could try checking if there are firmware updates for the camera or app, as sometimes features are added or adjusted in updates.

If you’d like more tailored help, feel free to reach out to the Aqara Customer Service Team via the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) for further assistance.

Hopefully, other community members with the G5 Pro might share their experiences too—feel free to keep the thread updated if you find a solution!

Thanks for sharing your question, and good luck getting that automation set up smoothly.
