Hey everyone! I wanted to share a little about my recent journey with organizing my smart home devices. As my setup has grown, I’ve found myself with quite a collection of devices, and managing them all has become a bit of a challenge.
I recently added several new cameras to my setup, bringing my total to 33 Arlo devices. While it’s great to have comprehensive coverage, the sheer number of devices on my list has started to feel overwhelming. I often find myself scrolling through a long list just to find the one I need.
This got me thinking—how can I make this more manageable? I’ve heard others talk about grouping devices, so I decided to give it a try. I started by categorizing my cameras into groups like ‘Indoor’, ‘Outdoor’, and ‘Basement’. This has made navigation much easier and has given me a cleaner interface.
I also stumbled upon some tips about using automation rules to streamline device management. For instance, setting up rules to trigger specific actions based on events has helped reduce manual intervention. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but seeing the system work more efficiently has been really satisfying.
I’d love to hear how others are organizing their devices. Do you have any tips or tricks for keeping everything tidy and efficient? Let’s share and learn together! ![]()
