I’m having an issue with my Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 and would appreciate some advice.
The Problem: When someone presses the doorbell button, the indoor Chime Repeater rings normally, but the outdoor unit (G4 itself) remains completely silent. There is no “ding-dong” or confirmation sound outside, so visitors don’t know if the bell is working.
Details:
- Audio Test: If I use the “Two-way Audio” via the app, I can hear my voice coming out of the outdoor unit’s speaker. This means the speaker itself is physically working.
- Settings: I can adjust the volume of the indoor Chime Repeater, but I cannot find a specific setting to enable or adjust the ringtone volume for the outdoor unit. I have already tried setting a custom ringtone, but it still doesn’t play outside.
- Power: The device is currently running on batteries.
- Troubleshooting done: I have already performed a factory reset and re-paired the device, but the issue persists. “Do Not Disturb” mode is turned off.
Is there a hidden setting to enable the chime sound on the outdoor unit? Or is this a known bug in the current firmware?
