I recently encountered an issue with Samsung Internet where it was overriding my website’s custom dark mode settings. Despite implementing the dark mode according to W3 specifications and adding the recommended meta tags, the browser continued to enforce its own dark theme. This was puzzling, especially since the problem persisted even after following the steps outlined in Samsung’s official blog post.
The issue was particularly frustrating because it affected the user experience on my website, making it inconsistent across different browsers. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that adjusting the browser flags and ensuring the correct meta tags were properly implemented could mitigate the issue. While it wasn’t a perfect solution, it significantly improved the situation.
