Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with Philips Hue lights and the fade-in wake-up feature. As many of you might know, I’ve been using Philips Hue lights in my bedroom, and they’ve been a great addition to my smart home setup. However, recently I’ve been facing an issue where the lights often show as ‘unavailable,’ which is quite frustrating. I’ve tried restarting the devices, checking the network connection, and even resetting the Hue hub, but the problem persists.
One feature I really love about the Hue lights is the fade-in wake-up in the morning. It’s such a smooth and pleasant way to start the day, gradually increasing the light intensity to mimic a natural sunrise. My wife and I both enjoy this feature, and it’s been a great way to wake up without the harshness of a sudden alarm.
To address the availability issue, I’ve been considering switching to Wi-Fi bulbs with Tasmota firmware. I’ve heard great things about Tasmota’s flexibility and compatibility with Home Assistant. I’m curious if anyone has successfully replicated the fade-in wake-up feature using Home Assistant automations or Node-RED. It would be fantastic to have the same functionality with more reliable bulbs.
I’ve also come across some community solutions where people have managed to fix the Hue lights’ availability issues. I’m eager to hear if anyone has found a reliable fix or workaround for this problem. I’d really like to stick with the Hue ecosystem if possible, but I’m open to exploring alternatives if the reliability issues persist.
In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with different automations in Home Assistant to ensure a seamless wake-up experience. It’s been a learning process, but it’s also been rewarding to see how much control I can have over my lighting setup. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences with similar setups or any tips you might have for improving the reliability of smart lights.
Thanks to everyone in the community for your support and shared knowledge. It’s amazing how much we can achieve together by collaborating and sharing our experiences. I look forward to hearing from you all and hopefully finding a solution to keep my Hue lights working smoothly while maintaining that wonderful fade-in wake-up feature.
Best regards,
