Positive Experience with Insteon Component Update

I recently had the pleasure of updating my Insteon component to the latest version, and it’s been a game-changer! :tada: After running into some issues with my devices, I stumbled upon teharris1’s custom component on GitHub. The update process was straightforward, and the improvements are remarkable.

One of the standout features is the enhanced auto-discovery, which now identifies battery-operated devices effortlessly. I was impressed by how seamlessly it integrated with my existing setup, especially with devices like the thermostat and IOLinc. The event-driven system is a huge plus—double-tap controls now work intuitively, adding a layer of convenience I hadn’t anticipated.

I also appreciate the improved command-line tool for configuring device behaviors. It’s given me more control over my smart home setup, and the fact that it’s compatible with the Hub app is a bonus. I’ve been stress-testing it around the house, and it’s held up beautifully.

For anyone considering the update, I highly recommend it. The responsiveness and reliability improvements are worth the effort. If you’re curious, check out the GitHub link in the original post for more details. Happy automating! :rocket:
