I recently upgraded my home security with the Wyze Doorbell Cam+, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. Initially, I was excited about the idea of integrating it with Alexa to create a seamless automation experience. My goal was to have Alexa announce whenever someone was detected at the door, which would be triggered by the Wyze Doorbell’s person detection feature. However, to my slight disappointment, Alexa didn’t recognize the person detection trigger as I expected. Instead, it only detected when the doorbell was pressed. Despite this hiccup, I didn’t let it dampen my enthusiasm. After some research and tweaking, I found a workaround by setting up a custom routine that combines motion detection with the doorbell press, achieving the desired outcome. This experience taught me the importance of exploring different automation combinations and not being discouraged by initial limitations. I’m now enjoying a more integrated and responsive home security system, thanks to the Wyze Doorbell and Alexa working together. It’s a great reminder that with a little creativity and patience, even minor setbacks can be overcome!
