Today I’ve decided to use the new H2 EU Power Plug as a power meter for my oven and fridge.
Due to so called hack-job done by the carpenter that made the kitchen, the oven and fridge is plugged into a power strip. Apparently he didn’t want to do electrical work and because there was no socket for those appliances, he just used a power strip.
But this allowed me to test if the Power Plug H2 EU is really capable of handling the 3680W as specified on the box. For my test, I plugged the H2 before the power strip and it took the load of the oven and fridge.
The first thing I noticed during the test - the wattage updates really fast in the app. In real time even, I would say.
You can see this on the video where I tested different settings of my oven and how it showed in the app.
And by doing my tests, I was able to get to the maximum of 3200W. I wasn’t able to go higher in my test, but it looks like the box doesn’t lie.
I’m pretty sure it’s capable of 3680W, and I used an IR thermometer to test the temperature of the Power Plug - it stayed around room temperature. So it took 3200W like it was nothing, and it probably will also take the full load of 230V16A. A real champ.
The H1 is able to handle a maximum of 2500W. And it looks like the H2 is a huge upgrade not only size-wise, but also power-wise and feature-wise.
So to sum up - really happy with my test unit! As far, it lived up to my expectations (or maybe even exceeded them a bit). So far, so good ![]()
