Prefer to use zigbee mode if you would like to enable your existing zigbee products and new dul protocals proudcts

i noticed a lot of uses are discussing they have different products, some products are zigbee only devices or hubs (but some hubs like M2 support bridge feature connect to matter), but some new products are supporting dual protocols which include thread and zigbee, for this case, i strongly suggest to use zigbee only protocal for both kinds of products, ensure the antomation setup can be worked smoothly.

@momolillian Thanks for sharing this practical insight! Your suggestion to prioritize Zigbee mode for both existing Zigbee-only devices and new dual-protocol products makes a lot of sense—especially for ensuring smooth automation across the entire smart home setup.

From what we know, Zigbee’s self-organizing mesh network allows devices to relay data and expand coverage, which is great for integrating multiple existing Zigbee devices seamlessly. Plus, for dual-protocol products like the Shutter Switch H2 EU, Light Switch H2 Horizontal, or LED Bulb T2, switching to Zigbee mode unlocks exclusive Aqara features and ensures backward compatibility with classic Zigbee hubs, which is super helpful for leveraging your existing ecosystem.

It’s always valuable to hear tips from community members who’ve navigated these setups firsthand. Thanks again for taking the time to share—this will definitely help others looking to optimize their smart home automation! Feel free to share more of your experiences or insights down the line—we’d love to hear them.
