Project Showcase: Dual CS529 Integration and Govee Appreciation

Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment to share a project I’ve been working on and express my admiration for Govee’s contributions to the smart home ecosystem. First off, I’d like to thank the entire community for the wealth of knowledge and support available here. It truly makes projects like mine possible!

Recently, I’ve been delving into integrating a Dual CS529 turntable with Home Assistant. The official app left a lot to be desired in terms of user experience, so I decided to reverse-engineer the BLE protocol. The result? A seamless integration using ESPHome, complete with custom Lovelace tiles. The best part? I can now control my turntable directly from my smartwatch! While I initially thought it was a bit silly, it’s become a daily convenience.

I’ve also been thoroughly impressed with Govee’s products. Their devices are not only stylish but also incredibly functional. The community support is top-notch, and it’s evident that Govee puts a lot of effort into continuous improvement. It’s rare to find a company that truly listens to its users and acts on their feedback, but Govee definitely does.

On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with some automation triggers for disk space management. It’s a small thing, but preventing system crashes due to full HDDs is a huge relief. I’ve set up a script that checks the HDD utilization every 24 hours and triggers a cleanup if it exceeds 90%. It’s been running smoothly for weeks now!

I’d love to hear about your projects and any tips you might have for optimizing smart home integrations. Let’s keep the ideas flowing!

Cheers,
