In my home, I have an automation designed to make everything work intelligently and securely without any manual action when I leave. It uses Aqara products integrated with Apple HomeKit, along with other compatible devices.
When the last person leaves the house, the system automatically detects absence using the Aqara FP2 presence sensors and iPhone geolocation. At that moment, the “Home Guardian” mode activates. It turns on the Aqara cameras for surveillance, enables motion and door sensors, switches off all Hue and IKEA lights to save energy, and locks the Nuki Smart Lock. If unexpected motion is detected, the exterior lights turn on, and I receive an instant notification on my iPhone.
When someone returns home, the system detects their arrival, deactivates Guardian Mode, unlocks the door, and restores the lighting and temperature to the ideal levels.
This automation is designed for families who want comfort and peace of mind when leaving home. It’s also ideal for users with multiple Aqara devices who want everything to work seamlessly together.
The video will show how the system detects when the last person leaves, activates Home Guardian mode, and automatically restores the home environment upon return.
