Hi everyone, I’m really enjoying setting up my smart home system and I wanted to share an experience I had with the Proximity Integration. I’ve been using it to automatically open my garage door when I come home, which has been working great! I set it up by tracking the GPS location of my phone and created a proximity sensor to detect when I’m approaching the house. It’s been a real time-saver and adds a nice touch of convenience to my daily routine.
Now, I’d like to expand this setup to include my partner as well. The question I have is about how the Proximity Integration handles multiple users. From what I understand, if I add my partner’s device to the same proximity sensor, it would detect the closest person to the home. But I’m wondering if this means that only one person at a time can trigger the automation, or if both can be accounted for independently. For example, if I’m already home and my partner is still out, would the system recognize their approach and trigger the garage door accordingly?
I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with setting up Proximity Integration for multiple users. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help, and keep up the great work on the community forum. ![]()
