PTZ Apple Homekit Control?

Has anyone had any luck finding a way to control PTZ via Homekit? Right now for my G3 I have this kind of insane setup where I’ve made 36 SCENES in the Aqara app for every possible position on a clock face + UP, MID, DOWN. These are exposed as scenes to HomeKit, so then I can switch between them by setting the scene in a HomeKit automation.

Has anyone figured anything smarter than this? I’m not sure how reliable it will be. It feels like a limitation of HomeKit rather than the G3 itself so I’m hoping one day it will be updated by Apple and maybe Aqara will be kind enough to implement it for old devices

Hello, I think that PTZ “actions” are not supported yet in home kit. what ever the brand of camera.

I know it’s not cheap but I would highly recommending trying “Controller for HomeKit” app as it provides a much wider range of ways to configure automations over the standard Home app and expose more functions. I have been using it for a little while now and it has helped a lot with even just simple things like being able to use the Lux level in Motion Sensors to activate based on Motion and light levels to turn on a a light bulb.

They give a free trial period still I believe so you can try it to see if it works for you.

I have been searching everywhere for an answer and like you haven’t found one yet. I believe it’s a HomeKit limitation. Guess we will have to wait for now

Thanks a lot. Seems like my messy solution with 36 homekit scenes is the only way round here. It works pretty well and can then be triggered by other devices which is nice. Took ages to set up all those scenes though!!
