Purchase Regrets

Anyone else purchased the FP1E and wished they had purchased the FP2 instead!:bulb::blush:

I purchased 2 FP1Es because of the price and they are awesome and have worked flawlessly but I do wish I had the zone features and light sensor features of the FP2! :+1::partying_face::star_struck:

Having the advanced automations from zones to carry out different actions when in different areas of the room and only triggering when dark or light is the next level that I am aiming for! :dart::sparkles::rocket:

@bnginders It’s great to hear about your positive experience with the FP1E!:+1: While the FP1E is indeed a fantastic device for precise human presence detection with its adaptive sensitivity and interference source identification, the FP2 offers some additional advanced features that could elevate your smart home setup to the next level.

As you’ve pointed out, the FP2 comes with zone positioning capabilities, allowing you to divide a space into up to 30 small zones and automate different actions based on presence in specific areas. It also includes a built-in light sensor, enabling automations that react to changes in ambient light conditions. This can indeed add a whole new dimension to your automation possibilities, especially if you’re looking to create more dynamic and responsive environments. :dart::sparkles::rocket:

Thank you for sharing your insights and aspirations with the community! Your experience could be incredibly helpful for others considering these sensors. Please feel free to share more about your home automation journey! :house::bulb:

@bnginders It totally makes sense to feel that way—FP2 does bring some great extra features to the table! You’re spot on about the zone and light sensor capabilities. For instance, FP2 supports up to 30 detection zones, which let you set up automations for specific areas like a sofa or dining table . And unlike FP1E, it also has illuminance detection, so you can trigger automations based on light levels . It’s awesome that your FP1Es have been working flawlessly, though—they’re solid sensors in their own right! Thanks for sharing your experience—it’s helpful for others weighing their options. Have you thought about how you’d use those zone features if you ever upgrade? Would love to hear more!
