Pushbullet to Echo Integration: A Fun Smart Home Hack

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun little project I’ve been working on to integrate Pushbullet notifications with my Amazon Echo. I’ve been experimenting with Tasker and SmartTiles on my Android tablet, and it’s been a great way to stay connected with my family without constantly checking my phone.

So, here’s how it works: I have my Android tablet running SmartTiles, which is connected via Bluetooth to my Echo. When I send a Pushbullet notification to the tablet, Tasker intercepts it and converts the text to speech, which then plays through the Echo. It’s been super handy for getting the attention of family members when I need to share something important or just want to send a quick message.

I’ve been using this setup for a few weeks now, and it’s been surprisingly reliable. The only thing I’d love to see is more customization options for the voice and timing, but for now, it’s doing exactly what I need it to do!

If anyone else has tried something similar or has tips for improving this setup, I’d love to hear about it. It’s always great to learn from the community and see how others are pushing the boundaries of smart home integration.

Cheers,
