Hey everyone! I thought I’d share my recent experience with re-adding my Livarno LED filament bulbs to my Homey setup. It was a bit of a puzzle, but I managed to figure it out, and I hope my journey can help someone else out there.
The Problem: I had these three Livarno bulbs in my living room windows, and they were working perfectly. I even set up a nice flow to dim them to 80% when they turned on. But life happened, and I had to remove them from my system. Now, I wanted to bring them back into the fold, but I couldn’t remember which app or device I used originally to add them. I tried both the Lidl and Tuya Zigbee apps, but neither seemed to recognize the bulbs properly. I was starting to think I might have to replace them, but I really wanted to get them working again.
The Solution: After some trial and error, I remembered that I had reset the bulbs manually by toggling the power three times. This made them start fading in and out, which I think put them into pairing mode. I decided to give the Tuya Zigbee app another shot, and this time, it worked! The bulbs were detected and added without any issues. It turns out my initial recollection was correct—I just needed to be patient and make sure the bulbs were properly reset.
Tips for Others: If you’re having trouble re-adding devices, here are a few things to try:
- Reset the device: Most devices have a reset method, whether it’s toggling the power a certain number of times or holding down a button. Check your device’s manual if you’re not sure.
- Ensure the app is up to date: Sometimes, apps need updates to recognize new devices or fixes bugs.
- Check for firmware updates: Devices often have firmware updates that can improve compatibility or fix issues.
Final Thoughts: It was a bit frustrating at first, but solving the problem gave me a sense of accomplishment. It’s also a good reminder to document the steps I take when setting up new devices.
