Re-rolling LED Strips: My Experience and Tips

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with re-rolling LED strips, especially after moving. I recently moved and had to pack up my Govee lights, which included some LED strips. I kept the little spools they came with, and I’m happy to say it worked out pretty well!

First, I made sure to handle the strips gently to avoid any damage. I found that rewinding them slowly helped maintain the integrity of the tape. I was a bit worried that the tape might stick too much, but it actually held up nicely. I used a small spool and carefully wrapped the strip around it, being careful not to overlap too much.

One thing I’d recommend is to label each spool with the type of strip and any specific settings or modes they were used for. This way, when you’re ready to install them again, you don’t have to guess which strip goes where.

When it came to reinstalling, I was a bit nervous about the adhesive. But after a quick wipe with a clean cloth, the tape held perfectly. I also made sure to test each strip before installing it permanently. It’s a small step, but it saved me from any surprises once they were up.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried this and what their experiences were. Did you find any challenges or have any tips to share? Let’s discuss!

Happy rolling! :star2:
