Recording when not home

How do we record events when we are not home?

@rand58 To record events when you’re not at home, you can utilize the Aqara HomeGuard service, which offers both event and automated recordings stored in the cloud. Here’s how it works:

  1. Event Recording: Once your Aqara camera is connected to the Aqara Home App and has a stable network connection, it will automatically start recording if it detects any anomalies in the monitoring scene, such as motion detection or AI events like people passing by or pet detection.

  2. Automated Recording: You can set up automation via the Aqara Home App. For example, if an Aqara Door and Window Sensor is triggered, it can automatically start the camera recording.

Both types of recordings are encrypted and uploaded to the Aqara camera cloud storage, allowing you to view and download them anytime through the Aqara Home App. This ensures you can monitor and keep track of events even when you’re away from home.

Feel free to share your experiences or any additional questions you might have about setting this up!

@rand58 To record events when you’re not home, here’s what you need to know:

First, enable guardian mode. When activated, if a triggering event is detected, the security camera will automatically record a video and push it to alarm notifications and the security log. Note that this feature requires activating the “Home Guard” (Pro or Plus version) first .

Event recordings are triggered when the device detects anomalies (such as motion, people passing by, etc.) or other AI events, and these recordings are encrypted and uploaded to the Aqara cloud storage . You can also set up automations (e.g., triggering the camera to record when a door/window sensor is activated), which will generate automated recordings uploaded to the cloud .

For devices like the Aqara Camera Protect Kit Y100, it automatically analyzes footage, tags significant events (like motion detection), and records them separately, making it easier to review later . Additionally, after setting up the security camera, when pre-set events are triggered, the camera will record videos and send emergency reminders to you or designated contacts .

Make sure your Aqara Home app is updated to version 5.2.6 or above for optimal functionality . If you need more details, refer to the device manual or Aqara’s support resources.
