Reducing Delay in Smart Bulb Control with ZEN30 Dimmer

Hello everyone, I’ve been experimenting with integrating smart bulbs into my home automation setup and wanted to share my experiences and tips for reducing delays in bulb response times. I’m using the ZEN30 dimmer button to control a smart bulb, which works perfectly but with an annoying delay. The dimmer has a nice LED animation when triggered, but the bulb only turns on once the animation completes. This delay is due to the dimmer reporting its status back to the hub after the animation finishes, taking about 2 seconds. While this makes sense for physical loads, it’s frustrating for smart bulbs where the delay isn’t necessary.

I found that using Switch Bindings to sync the Z-Wave bulb and switch helps, but the delay remains. I remember experiencing a similar issue with the ZEN27, where two quick presses solved the problem, but it’s still not ideal. I’m curious if others have encountered this and how they’ve worked around it. I’m planning to try adjusting the dimmer settings or exploring if there’s a firmware update that addresses this. If anyone has tips or solutions, I’d greatly appreciate hearing about them!

Additionally, I’d love to know if others have successfully integrated Hue bulbs with similar dimmers and how they handled any delays. It would be fantastic to find a universal solution that works seamlessly across different bulb types. Thanks for your insights and experiences!
