Hello Shawn, you can communicate here. Our hardware engineer would like to have a discussion with you.
Sure… I’ll be traveling later today and be back at home Monday. I noticed the thermostat rebooted around 7:17 and 7:24 this morning.
Hi, I’m a hardware engineer from Aqara. I have a few questions to confirm with you regarding the thermostat reboot issue:
- Please upload the logs after the device reboots.
- When the reboot occurs, does the air conditioner display any error messages or have a fault indicator light on?
- What is the specific model of the air conditioner controlled by the thermostat? What is the power rating of the 24V control transformer that supplies power to the thermostat — 24VA, 40VA, or higher?
- Please take photos of the wiring connections on both the 24V air conditioner control box and the thermostat.
- Besides the thermostat, does the 24V control transformer power any other devices?
- Have you ever replaced the Aqara thermostat? If yes, does the reboot issue still happen?
- Have you previously used a C-wire powered thermostat without batteries? Did it also have reboot problems?
- Does the thermostat reboot automatically? How many times does it reboot per day approximately? Is the air conditioner running or off when the thermostat reboots? How can you restart the thermostat after it stops working?
Sorry, I’ve been covered up with work after I got back into town however I have not seen a reboot even since I got back home on Monday evening. this is what I can tell you off the top of my head and will get more specifics tonight when I get home.
- I’ll get specifics but there’s a gas furnace in the basement with blower and a 2ton condenser outside. Carrier units.
- No, the 24V transformer does not power up any other devices. I will confirm this evening.
- No. the Aqara thermostat has never been replaced.
- Yes. It was a Nest Thermostat and NO, it did not have reboot problems.
- Yes it reboots automatically. It seems to some mornings when presence is detected. I’m not sure if it’s actually running will have to observe the next time I see a reboot but haven’t seen a reboot since last reported on the forum.

If you are not available recently, please kindly let us know the specific model of the air conditioner controlled by your thermostat first.
Thank you very much.
Here are pictures of the indoor unit with model number. I have not had a reboot since posting initially.
Are you currently using the cooling mode?
Yes I am using the cooling mode. The lockups could have happened during the heating mode since at that time one day it might be on heat and one day on cool depending on the weather.
