Hey everyone, I’ve been using Homey for a while now, and it’s been a great addition to my smart home setup. However, there’s one thing that’s been a bit of a nuisance for me and my family. Whenever Homey makes an announcement, it tends to startle anyone in the room because it just begins speaking without any warning. It’s like when you’re in a quiet room and suddenly the voice comes on—it can be pretty startling!
I remember when I first set up Homey, I was really impressed with how seamlessly it integrated with all my devices. But this one issue has been bugging me. I think adding a short chime or tone before Homey starts speaking would solve this problem. It would give people a heads-up that an announcement is coming, just like how airports or train stations have those little pips before an announcement plays.
I’ve looked through the settings and forums, but I haven’t found a way to add this feature myself. Maybe there’s a workaround or a setting I’m missing. If not, I think this would be a fantastic feature to request for future updates. It would make Homey feel even more polished and user-friendly.
