As a homeowner with an irrigation system, I’ve noticed that the current semantic model lacks a specific equipment type for sprinkler systems. While there is a Valve equipment type available, it feels more suited for general use rather than the specialized needs of an irrigation setup. Lawnmower equipment is also present, but it doesn’t quite cover the irrigation aspect, which is crucial for maintaining green spaces.
I can imagine how beneficial it would be to have a dedicated sprinkler system equipment type. This could allow for more intuitive automation rules, such as scheduling watering based on weather conditions, soil moisture levels, or even the time of day. It would also make it easier to integrate with other smart home devices, like weather stations or soil sensors, creating a seamless and efficient irrigation system.
I wonder if there are any plans to expand the semantic model to include such equipment types. If so, I’d love to hear more about it! If not, perhaps the community could collaborate on suggesting this enhancement. Your thoughts and experiences would be invaluable in shaping this idea.
