So Aqara ! I have an urgent request. For all Zigbee bulbs , light products from Aqara it is possible to group several bulbs , lightstrips , ceiling lights and so on! Great and awesome feature!
You might already be able to do this. Just go to the ‘Add New Device’ option under Devices, then select ‘Add Light Group’ (Matter or ZigBee is not important) or any other available devices.
Oh thanks @gtxteo saw this option once but seems I forgot again! I was looking for this directly in the settings of the lamps ( which is available in the zigbee bulbs)!
But didn’t found it in the settings of Matter bulbs !
You can create them also in Home Assistant.
Go to Settings > Devices & Services, then select the Helpers tab and click Create helper. Choose Group from the list, then select Light group.
Yeah, but this is not a Matter group (like a Zigbee group). It’s a Home Assistant light group. But when you have more than 2 or 3 Matter over Thread Aqara T2 bulbs in one HA light group, you get the popcorn effect, where not all bulbs switch on/off/dim at the same time.
This is not the case for Zigbee groups and should not be the case for Matter groups.
Do we speak German here? How do you know I’m German?
Exactly, are we talking about Matter Groups using multicast to reduce latency and popcorn effect or just a way to group them inside the app to represent a set of lights?
For native Matter Groups, which are not supported by any platform currently, mixing Zigbee devices would not be possible since Zigbee doesn’t even use the IP network so can’t receive the multicast messages.
Weil in eine screenshot von @DEChrisE ich habe ganz oben Flur gelesen. Deswegen ich habe gedacht her ist deutsche. Ich wüsste nicht ob du auch @hoppel118 deutsche bist.
Yes, I agree! I have the Hue hub connected through Matter and grouping lights would make it so much easier to create automations and in general manage all the accessories.
I think the best option, while groups are possible to add, would be to hide the individual items from the Accessories panel.
