I’ve recently installed two HMIP roll blind motors in my home and have been exploring the SmartHome integration. Initially, everything worked smoothly—both blinds were correctly grouped under the ‘Groups’ section, and I could control them together. However, I encountered an intriguing issue that I wanted to share and discuss with the community.
When I tried to lower one blind from the ‘All’ option under a room, only that specific blind responded, leaving the other untouched despite being part of the same group. This behavior was unexpected, as I assumed the group would control both blinds simultaneously. After some research and experimentation, I discovered that the ‘All’ option might be tied to individual room settings rather than the group configuration.
To resolve this, I revisited the group settings and ensured both blinds were correctly linked. I also checked if there were any hidden configurations or overrides that might be causing the issue. After a few adjustments, the group functioned as intended, allowing both blinds to be controlled together seamlessly.
This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly reviewing group configurations and understanding how each option interacts within the system. I hope this insight helps others who might encounter similar issues. If anyone has additional tips or experiences with grouping devices, I’d love to hear them!
