So I wasn’t a “morning person” at all… until Aqara totally changed the game.
I threw together a few basic automations and now my mornings feel way more put-together, even when I’m dragging myself out of bed. Thought I’d share what’s been working for me — maybe it’ll spark some ideas.
Here’s what happens: My bedroom curtain opens automatically at 7 AM thanks to the curtain motor + a simple timer. That natural light makes a big difference over the jarring phone alarm. As soon as I step into the living room (thanks motion sensor!), my smart plug kicks on the coffee machine while the ceiling lights fade in soft and warm — no more blinding overheads first thing.
I even set a shortcut so that when I tap my Aqara Cube in the hallway, it switches the speaker to a mellow playlist to ease into the day. Optional weekend mode: no curtain open, no lights, and sleep until I feel human again.
Anyone else built an Aqara-powered morning that actually works? Would love to hear what tricks or gadgets you’re using. Still looking for a smart way to add weather info or maybe mood-based lighting. Ideas?
