So I’ve been playing around with automations lately and decided to give my chaotic mornings a smart twist. Safe to say, Aqara has totally changed the game for me.
Here’s what my setup looks like now: The moment my bedroom motion sensor picks up movement around 6:30am (aka forced wake-up time), it kicks off a chain reaction. My bedside light gradually turns on (thanks to the Aqara relay paired with a dimmable bulb), my curtains open automatically, and the speaker plays my “gentle chaos” playlist—yes, that’s a thing.
By the time I stumble into the kitchen, my coffee maker is already brewing (plugged into an Aqara smart plug) and the bathroom heater’s been running for 10 minutes, so no freezing tiles. It just makes getting out of bed a bit less painful.
This was surprisingly easy to set up in HomeKit with the Aqara Hub M2 as the brain. Haven’t touched a manual alarm clock since.
Curious—anyone else using Aqara for morning routines? Drop your tips! I’d love to make it smoother (or sneak in a five-minute snooze option somehow).
