First off, I’ve been really impressed with the Ring security system, especially the 2nd Gen models. I’ve been using their contact and motion sensors, and they’ve been rock solid in terms of reliability. But I’m curious—does anyone have experience using these sensors with both the Ring alarm system and Home Assistant? I’ve heard there might be a driver or integration that allows connecting to the Ring hub, but I want to make sure this works seamlessly with the newer Gen 2 devices.
On another note, I’ve been trying to integrate some Z-Wave devices into my setup, specifically moving from Homeseer-Z-Troller to SmartThings. I’ve encountered a bit of a hurdle with Intermatic Z-Wave devices—they won’t add to SmartThings unless they’re first deleted from the old controller. That got me thinking—is there a way to reset these devices without needing the old controller? I’d love to know if others have faced similar issues and how they resolved them.
I also wanted to share a success story. I recently set up a system where my TV, lights, and Sonos speakers all work together. When I turn on the TV, everything else turns on too, and when I turn off the TV, it all shuts down after a short delay. It’s been a bit of a trial and error process, especially with the Sonos system, but I’ve managed to get it working smoothly. I’d love to hear if anyone has tips for optimizing such setups!
Lastly, I’ve been exploring ways to disable SSID broadcasts on my Vera3 controller using UI7. I’ve found some information, but I’m still not entirely sure about the best approach. Has anyone successfully done this and could share their method?
