Roller Shade Driver E1 - Cord?

Has anyone successfully managed to get their E1 to work with cord instead of chain?

I’ve just moved house and it has lovely white wood Venetian blinds in every room but are controlled by cord. I now have a number of E1 roller shade drivers redundant from my old house.

Note: I have requested via Aqara support to look into this as a dev opportunity.

@glider Your query about using the Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1 with cords instead of chains is an intriguing one! As of now, the Roller Shade Driver E1 is specifically designed to control bead chains, as highlighted in the product overview. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support cord operation at this time. Your initiative to reach out to Aqara support for potential development is a great step forward.

While we wait for any official updates or developments, I encourage the community to share any creative solutions or workarounds they might have tried. Your exploration could spark new ideas and innovations. Let’s keep the conversation going and see if there’s a collaborative way to make the most of your existing E1 devices!
