Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experiences with integrating a weather station and customizing smart switches in my smart home setup. ![]()
I recently purchased an RTL-SDR V3 with a dipole antenna to receive data from my EMOS ESW9010 weather station. While the setup seemed straightforward, I encountered an issue where I could only receive data from my neighbor’s car TPMS instead of my weather station. After some research, I realized I needed to adjust the frequency settings in the rtl_433 addon. By tweaking the configuration, I was finally able to receive the weather data I needed. It was a bit of a puzzle, but solving it was really satisfying! ![]()
On another note, I came across a fantastic trick for customizing smart switches using Tasmota. By programming the switch to respond differently based on single, double, or long presses, I was able to create a smart fan control system. For example, a single press turns the fan on for 10 minutes, a double press keeps it running for an hour, and a long press turns it on indefinitely. This has been especially useful in managing energy usage in my home. ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated weather stations or customized their smart switches. What innovative uses have you found for your smart home devices? Let’s share and inspire each other! ![]()
