Setting up a multi-protocol smart home system can be both exciting and challenging. I recently integrated Thread Matter devices into my existing Apple HomeKit setup using Home Assistant, and I wanted to share my experience and some tips that might help others avoid common pitfalls.

My Matter devices, such as smart plugs and sensors, now coexist harmoniously with my Apple HomeKit ecosystem. I’ve even set up some cross-platform automations, like turning on outdoor lights when my Apple Watch detects I’m approaching the house.
