Help, I have the Aqara Hub M1S Gen2, and a door and window sensor. I’ve set up the security system so that when I close the door, it activates away mode, and when I open the door, the alarm goes off. But how do I select “home” mode when it’s activated via my smartphone, so that “away mode” doesn’t activate? Let’s say I close and open the door so that the sensor doesn’t trigger and the mode doesn’t change.
@serghei To address your question about switching to “Home” mode via smartphone to prevent “Away mode” from activating, here’s what you can do based on the Aqara Alert System settings:
The Aqara Alert System supports three mutually exclusive guarding modes: “Home,” “Away,” and “Night”—only one mode can be enabled at a time . Since your current setup triggers “Away mode” when the door is closed, manually activating “Home mode” via the Aqara Home app will override this and disable “Away mode,” preventing the door sensor from triggering mode changes.
Here’s how to operate it remotely: Once your Hub M1S Gen 2 is connected to stable Wi-Fi, open the Aqara Home app and navigate to the security/alert system settings (usually under “Guard” or “Modes” in the app menu). Select “Home mode” to enable it—this will automatically disable “Away mode” due to their mutual exclusivity . With “Home mode” active, closing or opening the door won’t trigger “Away mode” activation, as the system will prioritize the manually selected mode.
