Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring ways to integrate my Pico remote into my existing home setup without sacrificing the functionality of my traditional toggle switches. The idea is to have a thick wall plate with a recess that can accommodate the Pico remote while still allowing access to the physical switch when needed. This would be perfect for maintaining the aesthetic of my home while embracing smart technology.
I’ve scoured online marketplaces and even checked Thingiverse for a 3D-printable solution, but nothing quite fits the bill. It’s frustrating because the concept seems straightforward—cover the existing switch with a Pico remote adapter, yet still have easy access to the physical switch when necessary. I stumbled upon a Sage by Hughes light switch on eBay that seemed to have a similar design, but it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.
Has anyone come across a product or a DIY solution that achieves this? I’m open to suggestions, whether it’s a commercial product or a custom-made solution. The goal is to find a seamless integration that blends old and new seamlessly. If anyone has tackled this challenge, I’d love to hear about your experience and how you resolved it. Thanks in advance for your insights!
