Seeking Advice on Automating LED Color Temperature with Remote Control

Hello everyone, I’m relatively new to the world of home automation and I’m currently working on a project that I’m really excited about. I have an RGB+CCT LED controller in my living room, and I’m trying to set up an automation that allows me to smoothly adjust the white color temperature using a remote controller. The goal is to create a seamless experience where I can tweak the lighting to match the mood of the room with just a press of a button.

I’ve managed to manually adjust the color temperature in both Z2M and HA, which gives me a good idea of what I want to achieve. The remote controller I have does send signals for ‘up’ and ‘down’ adjustments, which I can see in the automation triggers. However, when I try to set up the automation itself, I’m running into a bit of a roadblock. It seems like the action for adjusting the white color temperature isn’t directly available in the LED driver’s automation options.

I did notice that if I switch to the ‘light’ service in the automation action, I do get the option to adjust ‘Color temperature’ or ‘Color temperature (Kelvin)’. This is a step in the right direction, but it doesn’t quite solve my problem because I want to smoothly transition between the maximum and minimum values set on my LED driver, similar to how brightness adjustments work. Is there a way to achieve this kind of stepped adjustment for color temperature?

I’m hoping someone in the community might have encountered a similar challenge and could share their solution. Maybe there’s a workaround or a specific configuration that I’m missing. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you all.
