Hi all, I’m currently exploring ways to implement a multi-zone temperature monitoring system in my home. After experimenting with SmartThings, I stumbled upon a fantastic setup using a Fibaro UBS module paired with several DS18B20 sensors. The temperature updates were both frequent and accurate, which was a great start.
Now, I’m diving into smart TRVs and a Z-Wave boiler switch to achieve multi-zone heating. However, I’ve noticed that relying solely on the temperature readings from the TRVs isn’t quite precise enough for the rooms they’re supposed to represent.
To address this, I’m considering installing seven DS18B20 probes throughout the house to better control when to activate the heating system. But here’s the catch—the Fibaro module only supports four sensors, and purchasing another module along with additional probes feels a bit costly.
I’m wondering if there’s a more efficient or cost-effective solution out there. Ideally, I’d love to find a way to connect all 11 temperature probes I plan to use to a single module. Any suggestions or alternative approaches, especially ones that might involve Raspberry Pi, would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, and thanks for your insights!
