I recently purchased a house that already has an outdoor camera system set up by the previous owner. After some research, I decided to switch everything to Home Assistant-compatible devices to streamline my smart home setup. However, there’s one device that’s been a bit of a challenge: the EVE Outdoor Cam at the front door. While it works, integrating it into Home Assistant, especially with HomeKit, hasn’t been as smooth as I hoped.
I’m looking to replace this camera with something that offers easier integration while maintaining the features I need. The camera is installed under an overhang near the front door, so it doesn’t have a lot of space between the camera and the subject. Additionally, it’s powered by a 230V line, so I’d prefer a camera that can be connected directly without relying on batteries.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a camera that would fit these requirements? I’m particularly interested in ease of setup, reliability, and compatibility with Home Assistant. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
